NEW EVENT: 2nd Annual Irvine Juneteenth Freedom Celebration - Irvine - June 18, 2023 11am - 4pm
Kailifornia Jewelry & Accessories Returns to Irvine's Juneteenth Event in Partnership with BIPOC Orange County and City of Irvine
IRVINE, CA, June 13, 2023 - Kailifornia Jewelry & Accessories is delighted to announce our return to the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration in Irvine, hosted by BIPOC Orange County in collaboration with the City of Irvine.
Juneteenth, or "Emancipation Day," is a holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to inform the enslaved African Americans that the Civil War had ended and they were free - more than two years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. The holiday serves as a reminder of the deep roots of injustice in our country's history and how far we have come in the fight for equality.
As a multi-racial business with children, we value the importance of commemorating Juneteenth, using this opportunity to educate and empower the younger generations about our shared history and continuous pursuit of equality.
This year's celebration at the Great Park Palm Court on June 18 promises to be an enriching experience. BIPOC Orange County has curated an event that not only celebrates Black excellence but also encourages learning about Black culture and the historical significance of Juneteenth.
The event will feature interactive activities, educational resources from local organizations, and live performances. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample an array of fantastic food options, reflecting the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
Join Kailifornia Jewelry & Accessories as we commemorate Juneteenth and celebrate diversity, unity, and freedom in the City of Irvine.
